Fruit of the Spirit and Virtues is a series created to explore the fruits of the spirit that are described in Galatians 5:22-23 of the Bible along with other virtues that have been historically valued within societies.

While Cara created this series as a believer, the intent for the work is to highlight the virtues that build up harmony within society. While there is a lot of darkness in the world right now, Cara created the imagery with the intent to invoke positivity and inspire others to strive to exhibit such virtues that are displayed.

Each painting of the nine fruits of the spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control) includes animal depictions and fruits that have symbolized each virtue/emotion within historical artistic works, the illustration style being inspired by older medieval artworks.
